I've just picked up an edirol pcr-50 for £50 and the midi capabilities are excellent - I could easily run most of my rig from the thing, although it doesn't have midi thru to send a midi pedal (with midi out only) through it - am looking for a cheap midi-merge to get round this.
I know it's radical thinking carting a keyboard around when not actually playing the keys, but the midi control possibilities are huge - it has 8 buttons, 8 rotaries and 8 sliders, all fully assignable, with 16 memory banks! The smaller pcr-30 has the same features with less keys.

am looking for a cheap midi-merge to get round this. Try to find an Anatek Pocket Merge - they seem to be very cheap. If you don't find anything in your neighbourhood, I have got a spare Midiman Merge 2x2 : tinyurl.com/32ldssI had to buy it after getting a second hand FCB1010 and finding out the MIDI merge didn't work. But then I got pissed about Behringer helpdesk denying the merge problem, so they got me working on UnO, and now this new Merge box is laying around here unused. Mail me if you want it.
