Hi, I would like to try my hand (foot) at looping. I plan to start with Mobius (s/w) and FCB1010. Before I purchase an FCB, I'd like to find out if the UnO chip is something that I should consider. If so, where to get it. etc.
I am assuming the FCB can send note on/off , in addition to other PC and CC (just barely starting to figure this stuff out), since I think loopers like Mobius and perhaps EDP need note on/off and sustain type signals -- Correct?
I'm also open to getting a hardware looper (DL4, DD-20, RC-50) just to get started on, but since I have a computer set up, thought I'd try Mobius first
Advice, comments welcome! -Qua

Cheers Nick, that's an excellent page.
For Mobius use, fcb1010 without the Uno chip will be sufficient, and it's possible to program Mobius to get around any limitations of the fcb. I'd be wary of going for the Uno chip without latency figures being available. (fcb1010 triggers EDP samples with 5mS latency, edp hardware pedal manages 4mS, currently LG4 is a whopping 70mS, but not for long).

I may not be certified, but certainly certifiable..

While I don't use the UnO, I don't think latencies is any worse then the stock firmware. Behringer made the firmware in a modular fashion, and from talks with Xavier, it's my understanding he 'simply' rearranged how it does things. Normally, the FCB1010 can do 5 PC's and two CC's, all on different channels. The Uno is limited to four PC's. Given the limited eeprom storage, he had to make it so to make room for the split PC and stomp arrangement, plus things like being able to program it and do dump/restore without power off/on. I once asked him if it's possible to have just one more CC command on just a single button (to be used as a solo modifier button for guitar), possibly accepting another PC limitation, but he replied he already had to tweak every last single bit for the UnO
