I quite like my RC-20XL. But one of my (many) gripes is that it's only mono. I love to use spatial effects (eg stereo ping-ponging, deep flanging), but this is all lost once I start looping in mono.
I had a crazy idea last night...
I wondered if it might be possible to link two RC-20's together by wiring each of the 2 footpedals (and maybe the buttons too) from each unit together, to enable use of one set of switches as the master control. I could then use one RC20 for the left channel, one for the right.
Would this work, or am I a mentalist?

It would drift out of sync. ...but people have made similar arrangements with unsynced loopers and said they got away with it . options:- RC-50 EH Stereo Memory Man( in Cookes for about £100 in Feb)

It would drift out of sync. I'm sure it would ! It's a big beast, and too overengineered for my tastes .... But this is a lot of fun! ta Andy

I read this tread and though "Gee"
So I took my R20XL; what devices do I have that can go in mono and come out stereo , a pod. stereo delay, chorus, reverb simple minimal setting, less is more? seems like it. PODs are turning out to be very handy in the home studio environment. stereo delay set to 50 % balance very very fast delay 1/16 triplet at 100bpm, left side 1repeat, right side 1 repeat, I started with my oh-so mono tele how about a reverb? a little compression, a vintage plate. hmmmm add an amp and a speaker 1-10 4-10's 2-12's etc.
Now my boring old mono tele sound is very humph! I am a sound to be taken seriously, aren't I cool. STEREO.
switch to R20XL change amp and speaker combinations now the simple drone loop has more body, tweek some more, adjust EQ mmmm creamy from a flat mono drone that sounded nice, to a seductive drone that ooozes rich honey droneiness. in stereo,..... sorta
I am now looking at other available devices sitting around , I wonder.......
so thanks for the inspiration. before / after

What I'm now doing (upgraded to a mono EDP rather than mono RC20, but the technique is the same), is to use a RedSound XS-FX to give a bit of stereo width to the signal, mainly by using a touch of multifrequency panning, which is rather nice, or using more extreme effects such as slicing, flanging, filtering or echo. Or a combination of all if I'm feeling wild.
cheers

I have been using my BR600 to record and edit loops cut/paste cut/paste with practice due to the simplicity of operating the BR 600 one could use his method live though at that point the audience might think they had gone to a laptop performance.....point being in the studio it's handy, it's dandy and it's cheap it is not analog (sigh) I do stay away from the internal fx's and use outboard gear :1,2,3,4 tracks of mono, 1, 2 tracks of stereo prior to mixing....
redsound seems to be on vacation at this time regarding that particular piece of gear. what is edp ,please?
