my EFC-7 pedal behaves strangely and I need new switches I guess. Some source for them in Europe?

It is very easy to make your own pedal board for the EDP. Check out Loopers-Delight and/or the EDP pages for details. If you can't find them email me and I'll dig out the files.
I've just made another two sets using switches from an old Mac keyboard. Much lighter than the originals and no mistriggers at all. (I've used the same switches for my Repeater)

Jeremy,
Are you using these as foot (or toe) pedals, or just using fingers to press?
If foot operated, could you post a pic (does this group allow pics?), I'm keen to see, as I now have an EDP, but I'm not really getting on with the pedal for it, and I'm just trying to think of cheap but improved replacement options. I could just use decent foot switches, but they're a few quid each, then what with the resistors and cable and boxing, well, I could be looking at 30 or 40 quid. It's an outrage!

You wouldn't believe the bargain price I paid for it Now I'm depressed. I had a "refurbed" deal with the uk suppliers set up 5 years ago for 200 nicker. But they sold the barsteward to someone else! Can't wait to hear you using it!

Hi Stephen, I've just noticed your reply.... from November..... It's foot operated. Send me an email and I'll reply with a picture if still relevant. Yeah, I'd like to see a picture anyway, I do like the thought of using more reliable switches.
I am currently having very occasional probs when I press the multiply button; it behaves like I've pressed multiply, then immediately pressed record, so I get a loop of, say, 0.1 secs! Somewhat annoying (but doesn't make much sense, because I'd normally expect a double triggering of the multiply button to just do a mult x1, rather than an unrounded multiply). I guess it's something to do with the timing between the re-triggering upsetting the EDP. Anyway, having more stable switches should prevent this, so, yes please Jeremy, email me pics and further info. You have my email address.

That's an unusual fault. As the resistance value for Record is zero ohms a faulty switch (with a bit of contact resistance) doesn't ever give a Record by mistake. Could it be something's shorting out in your switch box? Or maybe it's just some odd behaviour of the edp switch detecting circuit when confronted with just the right(wrong) type of switch bounce.

That's right. It only ever happens with the multiply switch, so I put in a new switch, but no improvement. The wiring is OK in the rest of the box, all the resistors and bare wires are covered with heat shrink, and I'm sure that nothing is shorting out anywhere. My guess too is that these particular switches are bouncing, and the EDP can't handle it.

British audio service sells replacement momentary switches that are far superior. They will also sell you a set of 7 original red button switches for 15 bucks. (worth keeping a bag around for that in my mind) Here is a link: www.britishaudioservice.com/shop_main_echoplex.shtmlI'm sure if you were willing to pay a couple of extra bucks shipping they would send them across the pond too.
