looping and sampling?

I recently got myself a cheap sampler and I've been having loads of fun with it. It's a perfect companion to a looping setup, brilliant for playing saved loops (I've finally started compiling my own loop library) and mangling them.

The only con is that my sampler isn't very good for making live loops.

Does anybody else use loopers and samplers together? Any ideas on how to make this work even better?

I use a Jamman Solo w/ lots of storage time to save loops that I make w/ my Vox Looper. It works for me.
