So far, this isn't mentioned on the Zoom website, and there's no manual to download. It's a basic stereo recorder. www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=2053Distributers Samson claim "the same mics as the H2", and they appear to be in 90degree co-incident config. ( could be at 120deg like the H3 though, and hence useless) If it's an H2 without the unnecessary additions then it's certainly worth considering. If it addresses issues with the H2 then I can imagine that they read the emails I send them ;-) (and it'll be a very desireable product). Only worry, it uses just one AA battery...so the circuitry for the mic pre's might be a let down.

Not the same mics as the H2, they are the same as on the H4n. Zoom say they are "better" than on the H2 (personal correspondance), but are unwilling to volunteer any info about what makes them better exactly. (could mean "cost us less",even that's a way to be better).
Stereo pattern is 90 degree coincident.
There seems to be a proper volume control on record level.
Wonder if it would be possible to make a multi-track recording using an H1 for each instrument.
Ninety quid seems to be the going rate. ...but extra for things like psu, case, mic stand adapter, tripod.. ....yep, all those things that came with the H2 are available as an "added cost" package.
Incidently, Zoom have now removed any reference to the "120 degrees stereo" on their site for the Q3 audio/video recorder. Seems they do listen to user feedback (although, just removing useful info from the website doesn't get them any points).
