I'm building myself a midi controller with footswitches, but would ideally like a metal or (tough) plastic wedge-shaped case to mount them on - any bright ideas or google keywords I could try? My DIY skills are limited, so an off the shelf solution might be best

For my EDP controller, I used a piece of plastic skirting board which is about 4"x1", very easy to work with as the back unclips, it tapers away to one edge, and is very strong. Something like this (I'd suggest white though); www.alibaba.com/product-gs/272297609/PVC_skirting_board.htmlYou can get it from B+Q/Homebase etc, but the problem is that you can only get long lengths (eg 2m), so a lot will be wasted.

The internal bracing gives it strength, and the back unclips for maintainance. The other controller in the picture (for the Soundbite sampler) is an unwanted inverted bathroom shelf from Ikea, cost about £2 ;
