I tried to join this forum some time ago, and never got the "process email" to join. After my initial looping interest after being on LoopersDelight, I wanted a web based forum. When the log on didn't work here I lost interest in this forum and LD was still there.

I am glad to be here now, but this place is like Fort Knox.
(email verification, enter code, admin approval) Most spammers are stopped with the first step. The approval keeps the sock puppets down and some of the known forum hacks, (I tried 2 loggins because my first account didnt go through) Really though, if there isn't a problem added measures just hamper.

My word has been said, now off to the Boss section.

As the only admin, I can assure you that there *was* a big problem - I had to keep upping the security measures until it dropped off. I apologise if any of you found it difficult to join, but spam is such a time-consuming issue to deal with.

Let me be the first to say, if it is assistance you need, just ask. It can't be any worst than some of the other sites I have worked with. And I would likely put a section in just for the spammers that make it through if they are unbearable, not that I would encourage it, but I look at it as part of the beast.

Now talk about adding chat features and it gets more interesting.

Sad to report, I've just removed the chat feature. The "free" chat facility is automatically suspended after 30 days inactivity and since people haven't been using it, it's gone. If there is enough interest, I can reinstate it, but I suspect the forum simply isn't busy enough.
