I've managed to negotiate a good price for a looping pedal from the states, but am dreading the import duty, which seems to be around 4% of the value, *plus* VAT, plus a handling charge. Does anyone have experience of this?

Does anyone have experience of this? Your calculations sound about right, but don't forget the tax will be on the value of the item and the value of shipping at least VAT is only 15% at the moment When I bought my Matrix 12 I paid about 21% tax in total the handling charge is dependent on the carrier

hi Nick, I just bought a £175 Moog Filter pedal from US (ebay)
It cost £39 extra at the post office.
Still cheaper than UK price.
