I notice that I've been upgraded from Melos Echo Chamber to DL4. What comes next, RC20/50, repeater, or Jamman? How many posts do I need to become an EDP or a Looperlative ? You'll just have to wait and see ;D aren't custom forum rankings fun

Hi, I just recently came across this forum - seems like a nice quiet corner of cyberspace you have here. Just thought I'd say hello. I'm a percussionist & have been looping for a few years, first with hardware but now use ableton on a laptop. Good to come across a looping community - would like to get involved in any events if an opportunity arises. Cheers, Jon.

Thanks Nick, I'm in Devon, between Exeter & Plymouth. Quite a distance from you & also from Andy in Norwich, but you never know what might come up, so thought I'd express an interest. I'm in the UK at least!

Hi Andy, cheers, good to hear from you too & to see that you're still working away at it. Hopefully one day we'll manage a looping festival in a central location where we can all meet up. Enjoyed watching the videos of your Norwich event - looked like a good one. have you looked into getting any funding to put an event on?

It's possible to get transport costs for playing at the SCVA events, apart from that I haven't a clue. All I know about funding is how to make an unsuccesful application...and how long that takes ;-)

Hi Andy, sorry for the delay - have been away for a week. Also don't seem to get notifications of messages here.
Funding - Perhaps the PRS foundation? What are the SCVA events? I've had similar experience with funding applications, so empathise with you there, though haven't tried the prsf yet. They look like they might be open to something like that.
Jon.

Funding - Perhaps the PRS foundation? What are the SCVA events? I just checked out PRS site, and looking at what else they fund they might be interested in a large scale international loopfest. ...I think I'm a bit out of my depth there ;-( SCVA is Sainsbury's Centre for the Visual Arts, UEA, Norwich. They do a regular thing called the "late shift", and I've put on loop stuf there before ( see www.andybutler.com/norwich2008.htm ). I sometimes put together some loop acts to play there, and provide pa. It's a low key gig, but fun to do and "looks good on your CV".

Was it the PRS or PRS Foundation you looked at? I think the PRS Foundation fund projects of all sizes.
Will look into the SCVA events - sounds good. I'll look into things in this area too & will let you know if I spot any opportunities. Do you get to play at festivals much? Cheers, Jon.
