Has anyone used either of these as a foot controller ?
They are quite small, but the pads appear to be hittable* with a big toe. The Korg has an XY controller which could be fun.
Pretty flimsy looking, but probably strong enough to last as long as an FCB1010 (you going to be stomping very lightly anyway because of the nature of these things).
Some concerns regarding the possiblity of accidental multiple triggering (as these are designed as drum pads).
Both units pads send Note On as well as CC commands. The Akai also sends Program Change commands (is this likely to be useful for controlling Mobius?)
They are very cheap!!!
Anything else...?
(* almost certainly not a real word)
[edit:- Oh yes, I forgot to say that this would obviously be for connecting via USB to a laptop]

Has anyone used either of these as a foot controller ? No, but I just powered up my M-Audio Trigger finger and, er.. took my socks off. Now, the TF may have bigger pads than the units you mention, but then I have quite large big toes. It triggers fine, even with socks, but the velocity response is unpredictable.

Well, it works really well, but I do have to be quite precise with the toe, and some care is needed to avoid activating 2 adjacent buttons, but that's OK.
Now I need to think about the assignation of the 12 buttons. At the moment I have Rec, OD, Mult, SusReplace, MuteNow, Undo, NextLoop, PrevLoop, Reverse, HalfSpeed, NextLoopNow (unquantised NextLoop) and Mute at End of Cycle. I have assigned the X axis of the XY pad to Rate (with rate returning to normal when the toe is removed from the pad). In bank 2, as well as the basic loop functions, I'll maybe set up some fixed Rate changes. Probably won't need banks 3 or 4.
How do other people assign their MIDI controllers?
